About
Our research group is headed by Dr. Prabhakar Pagilla, who is a Professor at the J. Mike Walker ’66 Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. Our group focuses on modelling and development of Advanced Control Systems for various Industrial and Autonomous applications. We have two major fields of applications: Robotics and Roll-to-Roll Manufacturing.
Research Interests
- Robotics/Mechatronics: Collaborative robotics and human-robot interaction; blended shared control; robotics in manufacturing, including surface finishing, material handling, and assembly; modeling and control of constrained mechanical systems.
- Roll-to-Roll Manufacturing: Modeling, design and control of roll-to-roll (R2R) manufacturing systems; emphasis on development of R2R manufacturing systems for new products in flexible electronics (flat panel displays, photovoltaics, and solar films), pharmaceutical and packaging industries.
- Connected and Autonomous Vehicles: Enhanced mobility and safety issues in connected and autonomous vehicles; information flow and its effect on mobility and safety; coordinated adaptive cruise control systems.
- Large-Scale Nonlinear Dynamical Systems: Distributed and decentralized control; analysis of interconnected systems; applications to manufacturing processes and autonomous vehicles; robust and adaptive control; output feedback control.
